When it comes to cooking Thanksgiving dinner, what do you prefer to cook or eat? I personally do not like turkey. I prefer a honey baked ham. It is always a question whether the turkey has been cooked long enough or seasoned enough. Is it to dry? I would rather not be second guessing what I am cooking, especially the main dish for dinner. Plus, if I am going to eat turkey I have to smother it with gravy or cranberry sauce.
I know tradition is that everyone should eat turkey on Thanksgiving, but I am seeing a lot more people buying ham for thanksgiving or having both. At the end of day I don’t think it really matters what we eat, but rather being with family and friends for the holidays. Enjoying our time together.
I haven’t heard of anyone messing up a ham. You won’t be disappointed with a ham. Plus, it won’t dry out like a turkey does. Ham is also a lot tastier leftover than turkey is. Yes, turkey is a lot leaner and probably healthier, but our family doesn’t eat ham through out the year. This actually may be the only time we buy a ham.
I am curious to know if anyone has the same feelings I have about having ham instead of turkey on Thanksgiving. Leave a comment below!
